Facilities Manager

Our Facilities Manager is retiring in June 2025. We are looking for a dedicated Facilities Manager who embodies our core employee values of:

Christian-- must love for Jesus Christ and be an active member of a Bible-believing church. Their faith must be aligned with and supportive of the Christian mission of JKCS. The person must be filled with grace and demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit.
Passion --someone who is eager to demonstrate a passion for serving Christ by supporting and serving others.
Growth-- must strive for excellence, always looking to improve competency while seeking out best practices. Striving to accomplish goals while welcoming challenges defines this person well.
Connection-- must have a compassionate servant's heart for staff, students, and families.

This individual will support our mission of Igniting wonder for God, neighbour, and creation through exceptional facility management. John Knox Christian School emphasizes collaboration, mutual support, and a shared commitment to nurturing students' academic and spiritual growth.

Core Responsibilities:

Manage daily maintenance and repair of the school facilities
Oversee the safety of the facility and comply with the local regulations
Co-ordinate preventative maintenance schedules
Manage facility-related vendor relationships
Ensure clean, safe, and welcoming learning spaces
Support school events and operational needs
Manage rental of school facilities
Manage rental supervisors

Qualifications:

Minimum 3-5 years of facilities management experience
Strong understanding of building maintenance systems

Skills:

Technical Maintenance expertise (Handyman)
Ability to problem-solve building repairs and services
Budget Management
Strong communication abilities
Proactive and detailed-orientated approach
Ability to work collaboratively and joyfully with staff and administration
